Nestled safely away from the hubbub and uproar of tourists, Bam-Bou is an ornate cove of scrumptious tranquility. The restaurant offers Chinese, Thai and French Vietnamese cuisine; with a menu that boasts a well-selected array of complementing dishes from each country. Nothing could have prepared me for the sugar cane skewered chopped prawn starter, which required a culturally immersive hands-on ritual (explained by our very lovely waitress) involving careful wrapping, batavia leaves, star fruit, peanut hoi sin and lots of delicious, sticky fingers.
